When you learn how to build wordbanks from other creatives, the fun never ends. This is not your 3rd grade class. This is application!
Wordbanks & Game Creators - Miscast
My eldest son introduced me to Miscast a few weeks ago, just in time for NaNoWriMo 2021! Here is a young man who is using wordbanks to come up with magical items, spells and creatures. You may want to watch this video from 6.25min -7.43min to see how Miscast really works the use of wordbanks. Personally, I found his entire creative process inspiring. It made my book writing seem very doable after watching what he was going through to build an RPG (role-playing game, not weaponry!) This guy is incredible! Please visit his website for more amazing free stuff and let him know how he has inspired you!
Wordbanks & Crafters - Tammy Brackett
I ran across Tammy Brackett 2 years ago when I was researching how to make my own hand-crafted books & Journals. What a lovely surprise to find in this video where she is working on vision boards & glue books that she mentions her use of a wordbank from junk mail, greeting cards, and posters. You can find her use of her word bank at 0.35min – 1.40min. Please visit Tammy Brackett’s YouTube Channel and leave a comment for her.
Wordbanks & Artists - Daniel Duffy
Daniel Duffy is an artist that uses words to build his pictures. I ran across his work while I was running my 30 days of illustration program. I found his “Art of Words” delightful and highlight him here. Daniel’s art could be considered a word bank all in its own. Because this video is time lapse you may find the movements tough on your brain to process as he creates this amazing stadium that lists over 2000+ names. I recommend that you watch this video from 0.34min – 0.47min with your hand hovering over the pause button so you can get a glimpse of the amount of words this artist uses in his creations. Pop by his website and let him know your thoughts. https://artofwords.com/
Wordbanks & Teachers- Ms. Newberry
Ms. Newberry used to be a student of mine when I was teaching Math & Physics at a local community college, She is now a teacher in Alaska and she shared with me her pintrest board that she uses as her wordbank. Check out the way she has it organized. I was so impressed. Thank you, Ms. Newton! Pintrest Wordbank Board
Wordbanks & Graphic Designers- Salvage Savants
WordBank tools for Graphic Designer – Salvage Savant is a graphic designer that has been keeping a wordbank for awesome titles for his creations. Here is his google document that he has shared with you, why? Because he wants to help writers get better at their craft. Enjoy his turn of phrase and the quirky notes he leaves for himself.
